We are fortunate to have an outstanding school safety patrol here at Linne. These student volunteers are chosen based on their courtesy, dependability, leadership abilities, interest in the job, attitude towards others and scholastic standing. School safety patrol duties require a short amount of time each day. Millions of boys and girls have served since the program started in 1920. Since that time, the casualty record for children aged 5 to 14 has improved significantly. Patrols have played an important role in this achievement. Responsibilities for the Linne members are to close off vehicular traffic through the alleys, around the school building, before and after school. They also open doors for the entrance and exit of students in and out of the school. Finally, they post the colors of our great nation, as the school color guard, during school assemblies. Their community service efforts are appreciated by our students, parents, and staff. They are truly an essential component of our student safety efforts here at Linne.
